Fruit Juice Concentrates
Fruit juice concentrates are made by removing most of the water from natural fruit juice, resulting in a dense, syrup-like liquid. Fruit Purees, Comminutes & NFCs
Fruit juice purées are thick, smooth products made by crushing or blending whole fruits, often including the pulp and sometimes the skin, depending on the fruit. Unlike juice concentrates, purées retain more of the fruit’s natural texture, flavour, and nutritional content, making them ideal for use in smoothies, baby food, desserts, and sauces. They are typically pasteurized to extend shelf life and can be used as a base for beverages or culinary recipes without the need for reconstitution.
Citrus comminutes are products made by finely grinding whole citrus fruits—typically including the juice, pulp, peel, and sometimes even the seeds—into a uniform, semi-liquid mixture. This process captures the full flavour and nutritional benefits of the entire fruit, especially the fibre and essential oils found in the peel. Comminutes are commonly used in the production of marmalades, beverages, and flavourings, offering a more intense and complex citrus profile compared to regular juice or purée
Not from concentrate (NFC) juice is a type of fruit juice that is extracted and then pasteurized without undergoing the concentration process. This means the juice retains more of its original flavour, aroma, and nutritional value, closely resembling freshly squeezed juice. NFC juice is typically chilled and stored under controlled conditions to preserve its freshness and quality. It is commonly used in premium juice products.
